Breezes Loosely Captured, fumage and graphite on wooden panel

Drawing with fumage (or candle smoke), in this mixed media work. The combination of free mark making by the breeze, in contrast to considered mark making by my human hand. 

'Family Portrait' of melting ice on Jokulsarlon beach, Iceland.

Screenprint overlaid with volcanic dust from Eyjafjallajökul volcanic eruption. The mark making was a performative work of digital gestures, pinches, pulls and  swipes.

Harnessing the wind to make part of a work.

I consider this process a conversation with nature.

'Fu', or wind in Japanese. Semi abstract sea collage. Gouache painting and ink wind drawing.

A work where painting and harnessing nature are combined.

'Into The Earth', handmade painted ceramic stones, with bodily imprints. 

A combination of body and clay together to form distorted stones and pebbles , that at first appear normal, until closer inspection. Referencing how our human interaction directly affects our environment..

'Flux', manipulated photograph of found glacier ice in butterfly form.

Is the owner of the walking boot a friend, a threat or a spectator. This image was created in order to question what it is that we are seeing.
