Inspiration: Sandy beaches are considered to be the bellows of the earth, alternately taking in and expelling air. Just like our own breathing. After watching the foam repeatedly washing in and out and pulling on the sand and stones on the beach, I decided to paint a moment of calm where nature is temporarily paused in paint, so we can scrutinize and enjoy every little detail. With the sand and the sea, there is always so much going on under the surface, just like with us, and this work is a reminder to pause, take a breath and let nature in.

Info: Original oil on canvas available. Fine art print of original painting is also available on slightly textured paper, titled and signed.
